Case Studies

Case Study Overview

With each new project that I undertake, I take great care in covering the finer details and take note of future possible requirements that may need to be accommodated for, within the brief set out. On occasions many development details have been overlooked by the client which is why I make a point of highlighting the not-so-obvious.

Below are a number of case studies of projects that are either “in development” or have already been completed and are live on the web for you to view.

Brief
To produce a fully interactive e-learning 3D LMS with courseware that utilise’s advanced online cross platform technologies. This project has to cope with a very large traffic flow through. Communication is the main emphasis here. Stand alone application that sits on the users desktop will pull all application data from the main application server.

Key Features to be Included
Must be fully interactive. Must be simple in design to aid ease of navigation across the site and the use of simple yet informative graphics. Must help bridge the language communication gap. Must be able to expand upon at a later date. Must incorporate the use of leading interactive technologies. Must track user progress and learning experience. Must use real-time feedback and user interactions. Must have a full learning management system.

Conclusion and Solution
This project is aimed at a very wide and diverse user sector and so the use of actual written text is very limited. We are focusing heavily on pure graphics to bridge that communications gap. Focus group analysis has highlighted key areas of development requirements for a successful solution.

Brief
Produce an information portal as so parents can be kept informed on childcare facilities within the group, including all the policies and procedures that Kiddy Care abide by. To have an online library or different teaching aids to help parents look after their children whilst at home. Also include teaching downloads as so the learning process can continue outside of the nursery hours.

Key Features to be Included
Ease of navigation to find the right information quickly. To create an air of calmness within the site. Incorporate all current branding right across the site including all download/printable material. A secure login area where parents can track their children’s learning process at the relevant nursery whilst outside of the working day.

Conclusion and Solution
Kiddycare Ltd are the umbrella company for a number of nurseries around the country and so I’m creating a gateway portal that will lead the user to the relevant nurseries mini site within. The use of calming pastel colours enable us to incorporate their existing colour branding very well keeping the harmony across the site and company. Because we are dealing with sensitive information I’m developing a secure certificated gateway for the parents to travel through to the protect area beyond. Here they will be able to view their children’s uploaded reports and any other relevant information.
Non complicated navigation is the key here and so there is a need to develop a very simple step by step wizard type system where the user will be able to find what they are looking for in a matter of clicks.
